Mise En Scene

- Settings & Props- Costume, Hair & Make Up
- Facial Expressions & Body Language
- Lighting & Colour
- Positioning of Characters

As a lot of our film opening sequence will be taking place in various places, with it ranging from shots from outdoors to shots from being indoors, for instance our interview and us recording in the recording studio. It was simple to find a place outdoors as we wanted to illustrate C.Dot 'rough' time on the street, so therefore we had to find a place with a concrete wall that will represent the 'concrete jungle' of London, where C.Dot is from. Whereas for myself we wanted to portray that Keith is in owe of mother nature so we found various shots of areas with trees and grass to represent that Keith loves nature like God does because God created it, unlike man made things like concrete. This juxtaposition of these two characters work well as it becomes comical as Keith and C.Dot are not meant to be together as they do not look like the 'ordinary' perception of what we class as a duo.

Our costume will also represent the characters and illustrate what kind of walk of life these two come from. For C.Dot my group decided to show him as a 'chav' with lots of gold chains, bandannas and bucket hats. This gives off the impression of C.Dot being a rough kid thats grown up on the streets, but C.Dot voice contradicts this all as he sounds geeky with a little stutter which the viewer will find amusing. For Keith, we wanted to portray him as holy, clean cut person. He clothes are all smart with various different shirts and one simple gold cross chain with a dog collar which makes him almost look like vicar which hopefully our audience funny as it contradicts C.Dot's costume so much.

Facial expressions will be important in our opening sequence as C.Dot is suppose portray someone who is very serious and means business with his face; as in a lot of the shots, C.Dot stars into the distance longingly and then stares at himself in the mirror with a blank expressions which gives our opening sequence a serious a tone but when C.Dot does a voice over in his geeky, it contradicts this and makes it now amusing to watch. This is also reciprocated with Keith in a lot of his shots he is in because he also looks into the distance longingly.

For the green screen shots and C.Dot's talking into the camera scene, we used a studio light as it reduces any imperfections and makes it look more professional, which is our group main aim. For the shots outside, we was limited by time as we had to film it, in sunny weather for Keith scene and for C.Dot's scene we needed it to be dark and gloomy to reflect his emotions. Pathetic fallacy would work well as The Disciples myself and C.Dot's existence, and when we are not together C.Dot is more affected than myself.

Institution

The Island Def Jam Music Group

The Island Def Jam Music Group (IDJMG) was an American record label group formed in 1999 when the Universal Music Group (UMG) merged two of its daughter companies Island Recordings and Def Jam Recordings. In 2011, Motown Records was split from the Universal Motown Republic Group and was subsequently merged into The Island Def Jam Music Group. Barry Weiss served as Chairman and CEO of the company.[3] As of February 2014, artists on the IDJMG roster included Mariah CareyRihannaKanye West2 Chainz, and Iggy Azalea. On April 1, 2014, it was announced that Island Def Jam will no longer be running following the resigning of CEO Barry Weiss. The label will now be reorganizing Def Jam Recordings, Island Records and Motown Records all as separate entities. Being as our film is about a singing duo who is as big in the music industry as Rihanna and Kanye West, my group thought it would be ideal for our film to distributed by our 'record label' and a lot of films that are produced by music companies we have taken inspiration from, for instance One Directions movie and Lady Gaga's tour movie. We took a lot of our creativity from these two films in particular. One of the main reasons that we decided to chose this distributor is because they have had precious experience in producing films like ours.

Interscope Pictures

Interscope Communications (also known as Interscope Pictures) was a motion picture production company founded in 1982 by Ted Field. Its divisions included Interscope Records (which was founded in 1990 as a joint venture with Atlantic Records).

Shooting schedule

This is our shooting schedule. This shows when we have planned to shoot our film opening. However our planned schedule could change due to the weather, illnesses or if we do not want to use that particular scene anymore. We may have to extend the dates to film if the weather is bad or just swap round the days and we may have to use the weekend of the 29/ 30th to get all our filming needed, done for editing on Monday 1/ 12 at school.

Synopsis Planning

What we will need:

  • Gold Chains, Sunglasses, Bandana, Snapback.
  • Green Screen, Lighting.
  • Room to interview in.
  • Microphone.
  • Recording Studio.
  • Sink, Tap and Mirror.
  • Brink Wall.
  • Pathway, Trees, Greenery.

Characters:

  • Keith Abraham Lovesworth (Nathan)

In this I will be playing a religious, eccentric character who cannot sing but has made it big in the music industry with his singing partner C.DOT (Connor). He is a calming influence on Connor and the two are completely different personality wise but when they come together and sing, something just feels right.
  • Callum C.DOT Flewers (Connor)
In this Connor plays an offensive, serious person who finds it hard to control is anger. He is the one that has the offensive lyrics which offends Keith's church but Keith overlooks this as he sees good in C.DOT.
  • Costume:
For myself, the group felt as if he needed to always look formal, with various white or black shirts and formal jackets as we felt this would represent me as a religious figure, in one shot i dressed in all black with a white dog collar and a gold chain with with the symbol of Jesus to represent me as a 'Vicar' or 'Priest' which hopefully some people will find comical. Connor decided to dress in lots of gold chains with various hoodies, bandana's and snapbacks to represent him being from the streets of London which people will also hopefully find comical because it illustrates that we are two completely different people from different walks of life.

  • Location:
Our film opening will be located in various different locations such as recording studios, walkways, brick walls, interview rooms and an almost bathroom looking area.

  • Audience:
We have pitched our audience to be between the ages of 15 and 30 however not excluding any ages over the age of 30. We did not think anyone younger should be able to view this because there will be traces of drug abuse and offensive language also our group envisaged our fans being older than 14 years or younger as they would be too young to be around when we was big. The film certificate is 15.
Final Movie Pitch

As a group we all collectively chose to go with my idea. The below is both mine and Connors film ideas we pitched to our group.

Connor's -

I would name my movie Freedom to Fail and i believe the genre would work best as a TEEN DRAMA. This would work well as we would have the correct resources actor wise to produce it. The movie would be ABOUT a struggling youth battling the grimy realities of a city. He is introduced in various scenes of him walking through the city, looking lost emotionally. It shall be SET IN London, but is not limited to the London settings, meaning we can film in locations similar to this area. The THEMES of the movie is to display the dramas and struggles that modern day inner-city youths are forced to encounter, for example drugs alcohol and violence. The films MESSAGE,  is that everyone goes through struggle, often not winning. I feel the TARGET AUDIENCE would pay to see it as it would effectively emulate and amplify their problems and they would be able to relate to it. I would put an age rating of 15 on this sort of film as it would contain too much explicit content to be rated any lower, thus meaning the target audience would be middle of the line teens to people in their middle twenties. The OPENING SEQUENCE will relate to the rest of the film by addressing the setting and some of the films key characters. It'll also capture the genre well by using a specific arrangement of Mise en Scene. This will include locations that often signify youths bad behaviour and costumes specific to the age range E.G. hoody's and caps. I feel good camera work and constant changing of angles will create a great opening. Although the character will only be partaking in minor events, if filmed correctly, the film should be engaging to the audience. The STYLE and MOOD are similar, both should be grimy and dark, this paints the image to the target audience that no one around this area is well off, and it is an overall struggle. The titles will be integrated in many ways, many shall be embedded in the picture and various graphical techniques shall be used to create a visually artistic opening sequence. I feel that DIALOGUE will be kept to a minimal in order to achieve my idea, this is due to silences connotations of loneliness and fear. CONTINUITY PRINCIPLES will be followed to create a fluid, medium length scene opening, I will eliminate fast scene changing as it would make the pace seem fast when actually it wouldn't be. SOUND will be primarily used in the form of music, I feel the music choice will be vital for my opening. I feel that this movie would be good as it WOULD NOT CONFORM to how movies often end: with a light at the end of the tunnel. The main character would not overcome his problem.

Nathan's -

As a whole I am happy that we chose to go with my idea as I feel this would work best in the sense of that it would be easy to film and if we did it right then it would be the best in our class,

Individual Film Pitch

The following is the film pitch I presented to my group, Mel and Connor. This includes what our film should be about, what I envisaged the opening scene to be and what I hope to see as the final product.

I would name the title of the film, the name of the group, which at the staged I did not come up with as I did not wanted the rest of my group input as I believe no great idea is created by one person; however I thought the name of the group would work best for my chosen genre, a MOCKUMENTRY. This would work best because it would follow the lives of a failed duo trying to make a comeback with this new film and doing research ALL movies about singers or performers included the title of them or the band, followed with a sub-title. For instance - 'One Direction - This Is Us'. This movie would be about two struggling performers who had great success with their two previous albums and had string of big hits; however they was dropped from their record label because a big story exposing one of them lost them their fame. So now, with their new album coming out, a tour, a movie and putting their past behind them, hopefully they'll succeed and reclaim their throne of pop power once again. Do they get their? It shall be set in various places, as I did not want to limit myself to vast opportunities of places we could film. For instance, one shot could be of them in the recording studio and another could be them walking around their local supermarket. The themes of this movie displays the struggles of a fallen stars and the rise back to the top and its illustrates what they have to encounter on a daily basis, for example delving back into their private lives which heavily centred round dugs and alcohol. The films message is that everyone goes through a struggle no matter what walk of life you come from. I feel my target audience is from the ranges of 15 all the way up to 30 as I feel this would most likely be the bands fan base and I feel they would pay to see this film purely because it would be them breaking the fourth wall and viewing the band as they have never seen them before. I would put an age certificate of 15 on this short film because the film contains traces of drug abuse and a few explicit content to be rated any lower. The opening sequence is going to consist of a variety of different shots and scenes and it will address the setting and the two main characters; it will capture the genre of this piece by using Mise en Scene. This will include locations that you would typically associate a recording artist at (recording studio, album cover shoot, interviews) and costumes specific to the characters (sunglasses as they think they are global success') The style and mood are both going to work well together, quite laugh out loud but believable, as we need the audience to truly believe that these people are actually famous. The titles will be integrated in many ways, many shall be embedded in the picture and various graphical techniques shall be used to create a visually artistic and stimulating opening sequence.
Logo Creation.

In this particular lesson, we was all asked to create a logo, something I am vaguely familiar with to my previous encounter with it in my GCSE course for IT where I also had to create a logo. To begin with I create this on Microsoft Word, something you would not normally associate with creating logos. I used Microsoft's tools to create the reflection shape underneath the writing and image and I also used the font of the letters. I then decided to print screen it and put the image in paint to give it any last finishing touches and as paint would be associated with logos, I thought it would be the sensible thing to do.

I drew a lot of inspirations from other productions companies, large and small to give myself some idea of the name and logo of my own one. I decided to call it 'Liberty Productions'. I decided this because I believe all the big, worldwide known production companies all originate from America. so with this in mind, I needed to create something that symbolised freedom and greatness, so that why I chose to do the Statue of Liberty as my main inspiration. I believed that it is easily recognisable and has a memorable name as the connotation of this would be greatness, power and freedom.

Upon deciding the name and the reasoning behind it, I wanted to add some type of image as I believe all the recognisable production companies have some sort of image. So I decided to do the actually Statue of Liberty silhouette. This gives an impression of elegance, power and mystery as the colour black is all those things is portrays. I also decided to go with the colour black as it contrasts well with any colour you chose and as I have a white background I believed that it would really make my foreground pop.

I like my logo because of it's simplistic style but yet it has enough content to be attractive and appealing. Despite this I feel if I were to have more time I would search for greater quality images, although the program I used didn't aid the quality and I would of only stuck to using one program instead of various different ones as I feel that it slowed me down which then reflected on the final product as it is sleek or sharp in how I envisaged it in my head at the start of this task but overall I am content with the final product and how it turned out.

Narrative

Vladimir Propp, Todorov, Levi Strauss and Roland Barthes. These are just some famous names in the historic film industry, not any modern day icons we would say are famous names in the film industry.

We studied all four of thier theories and studies, but we focused more on Barthes statements and views about movies. He suggested that there will be one or more of the 5 codes that describe the meaning of a text. Barthes said that the texts may be 'open' (unravelled in a lot of different ways) or 'closed' (there is only one obvious thread to pull on). The 5 codes are:
  • Hermeneutic/Enigma Code - this code refers to mystery within a text, clues are dropped, but no clear answers are given. Enigmas within the narrative makw the audience want to know more. Unanswered engimas tend to frustrate the audience.
  • Proairetic/Action Code - this code contains sequential of action in the text. Proairetic elements add suspense to the text.
  • Semantic Code- this code refers to parts within the text that suggests or refers to additional meanings. Elements of the semantic code are called 'Semes'. The seme has a connotative function in the text. It has an extra layer of meaning in addition to its literal meaning.
  • Symbolic Code - this code is about symblism within the text. It exercises opposites to show contrast and create greater meaing, creating tension, drama and character development.
  • Referential Code - this code refers to anything in the text which refers to an external body of knowledge such as scientific, historical and cultural knowledge.

The other studies included:
  • Propp's idea on basic characters which always feature in media. The typical characters he found was -
The Hero - always seeks something.
The Villain - who opposes or actively blocks the hero's quest.
The Dispatcher - who sends the hero on his/her quest.
The Helper - who aids the hero.
The Princess or Damsel - acts as the reward for the hero and the object of the villain's plots.

  • Todorovs study of how stories always start at equilibrum. As they continue they develop problems which must be overcome to return to the equilibrum.
  • There are five stages the narrative can progress through:
1. A state of equilibrium ( all as it should be).
2. A disruption of that order by an event.
3. A recognition that the disorder has occured.
4. An attempt to repair the damage of the disruption.
5. A return or restoration of a NEW equilibrium.

  • Levi-Strauss' 'Binary Opposition' - the study of oppositions featuring heavily in movies, for example 'Good VS Evil' or Black VS White.

Mise En Scene

In todays lessons we studied Mise En Scene. This roughly translates into English as 'Whats in the scene'. So therefore as the translations states, we spent the majority of the lesson talking about the various  sections of a scene that impacts how it looks and comes across to the viewer . There are 5 basic categories which can all be changed to make the viewer feel or think differently about the scene. The 5 categories are listed below:

  1. Lighting and Colour.
  2. Setting and Props.
  3. Positioning of the Character.
  4. Facial Expressions and Body Language.
  5. Costumes, Hair and Make-Up.
All of these features are compressed into making a scene and manipulating the viewer in different ways. When the features are not collaborated correctly, the results can be catastrophic as they make whole new scene in which might not even make any sense. The smallest details can make the biggest differences throughout any scene in films.

Up (Montage)
Mise en Scene
Ellies hair continuely changing from brown to white illustrates a large amount of time passing. The characters clothes changes slightly, one being that the colour of it becomes more faded and old looking and even the scene becomes to looked 'tired' in the sense of it becoming like it looks like its been lived in for a number of years. The use of all the different ties is a clever way to show time passing as its constant thing .

Editing
In the opening scene clip, it illustrates that a large amount of time has passed by simply by showing a close up shot of Carl's ties throughout the years, he is Ellies husband and Ellie strighting up his tie, it is a straight cut.

Camera
There are a varied amount of different shots during the opening scene. One of them is a 'long shot' of the two of them walking up a hill and to begin with, Ellie helps Carl but in the end roles reverse and Carl has to help Ellie up hill. It's all very happy scenery. There is a wormseye view of Carl and Ellie looking up at the clouds and then theres is a birdseye view over them looking down at the couple viewing the clouds. Close up shot of a jar filled with money and as time goes on, the jar of money gets broken and filled up again and again. Finally there is a camera flash at the very beginnning of the opening scene which signals that it is a flashback of their lives together.

Sound
Throughtout the whole of the opening scene, there is pathetic fallacy to match what the character is feeling or the mood of the scene. To begin with there was cheery, joyful, upbeat music to convey how happy the characters was together at the start of their lives and then this made us as the audience feel happy. As their story goes on, the music contrast how it was to the beginning of the play, it becomes extremely sad and slow to convey the awful news from the hospital that they recieved, from there on out, the music never really got upbeat again. The music is non-digetic as both characters cannot hear it.

As you can clearly see in this movie poster, Scarlett Johansson is the main character and the story will soley focus around her and her journey. We can analysis this promotional poster by using 'Semiotics'. Semiotics is the study of the way in which images illustrate denotations and connotations.

Denotations: 'the literal or primary meaning of any given thing, in contrast to the feelings or the ideas the subject matter suggets'. So therefore the denotations of this poster are that of a women's face, close up and she is looking straight into the camera.

The denotations of this poster is that of a close up shot of a young womens face.

Connotations: an idea or feeling which a word invokes for a person in addition to its literal or primary meaning.

The conotations of this movie gives a more extreme view of the person viewing it. We can grasp already from viewing the character that she looks extremely different from what we perceive as a
normal looking person would look like, simply by this womans eyes being a differnt colour, with the shade of her eyes almost being that of a universe and the pupil of her eye representing a black hole, this could all forshaddow what is going to happen to this women as it states that her brain capacity will hit 100% today and who could possiblely posses that much information. Also, the way have captured the sense of worldly knowledge but also an illusion of this persons innocence. The colours used are contrasting to eachother, the dark could illustrates the depth of knowledge this women possess' and the bright colour of her complection could illustrates the purity and innocence of her mind that she once owned. The text that has been used in the poster even illustrates and implies some sort of drug like substance that could mean that it takes over mind, body, soul and how the drug can make you superhuman. 'LUCY' screams out to audience power buyt purity in the use of colour they have used. This poster portrays exactly what it is intended to.
Film Language

Film Language has four key elements. These are:
Mise en Scene, Sound, Camera and editing. #
All these four elements are put together to create effects in the scene and manipulate the audience to how you want them to feel. Each of them can be broken down and explained in much more depth.

Semiotics

In todays lesson, we all learnt about semiotics. Semiotics is simply the study of signs and anything that may stand for something else.
  • The actual definition of semiotics is: 'the study of signs and symbols and their use or interpretation'
Everyone reads the images in pictures in an attempt to decode them and make sense of what they mean to us as an audience.
Semiotics can be broken down into two key parts -
  • Denotations - what we see when we look at an image (what is it?)
  • Connotations - what we understand from this image (what are the meanings behind the picture?)
Learning what each of the two key parts of semiotics mean we then after had to do some practice and use our knowledge of the definitions of denotations and connotations to break down these four key colours.

This is the horror film that we outlined and presented to the class. After recieving feedback from the class, my group and i are pleased with the idea and concept that we camp up with and put together. Together we made up the title, we wanted it to have a meaning behind so we researched the web to come across an article where 227 passenegrs all went missing over the ocean. We also all had an input in the poster to advertise the film which was mysterious and eerie and left people questioning it. Along with the setting, we had to choose a unique cast full of actors we thought would best suit the genre of horror and why we thought they were sutiable for the roles and why they are in the film. Together we all decided on a storyline and everything else and it was put together well. we also had to mention how we would advertise the film on the film market and where would we want to advertise it, for instants on a billboard or social networking sites. After recieving a varied response from some good feedback and some crictisim, these are the results we had.
The total scores were mainly 7's and they were averaged out from the scored we recived in the rest of the feeback.
Most of the feedback heet said that the title was catchy and intriguing and it was interesting how we related our film to true events that happened.
We got a varied feeback for the characters as a lot of the people thought they were too well known for being either a comedy actor or more of a thriller actor and also that some of the cast were not well known enough.
Some people thought the film was different in a way that was a unique storyline, but some people thought that it was not orginal as some of the others ideas other group has made up because there are many horrors relating to paranormal activities.
The feedback on marketing was all positive as we chose more than one way to make our film become noticed and to encourage people to want to see it.
Overall i was happy with the feedback as it gives me things to work on the next time i have a task similar to this and the positive feedback on some parts were very good as this was the first time we have done something like this.
Genre Task

In todays lesson, my teacher assigned a task to use DISTICT when describing four film trailers that we watched in class together and took notes on them. We had tp apply the DISTINCT technique to four different film trailers and how that genre was portrayed throughtout the clip. The four films that we studied was:

. Oculus
. Guardians of the Galaxy
. Vow
. Dan Stevens

Some of the trailers contained two types of genres. This is called a Hybrid genre, this is where two genres overlap each other and become one genre. For instant, Guardians of the Galaxy is a Sci-Fi/Comedy. Some other Hybrid are: Romanic/Comdey and Action/Thriller.

Oculus: This film trailer is categorised as a Horror. I know this because of the use of sound that was played throughtout the whole clip, it indicated that something bad and life changing was about to happen to these people experiencing this horrific nightmare they are in. It created an eerie atmosphere. The film was set in an old fashion house whcih would be typically seen as being scary, this immediately illustrates to us that this is a house where no one living should be. It is mostly set in the evening and night time to demonstrate how scary the atmosphere is, the lighting of the film also shows how you will need to use of lights to see and illustrates that this is a place where it is dark and mysterious. During the trailer, the change of lighting in some scenes demonstrated how tense and on edge the film is.The small cast almost makes us empathise with them as you build a relationship with main characters as when they get scared, you also get scared for them.

Guardians of the Galaxy: This film trailer is categorised into the genre of Sci-Fi/Comedy. This particular film is a Hybrid genre. It is extremely unusually for this type of film to be comedy because naturally you would expect this film to be categorised as just a Sci/Fi or even a Sci-Fi/Comedy, this film is satire because it does almost makes fun of all other Sci-Fi films. The character are key to making this film a comedy because naturally you would believe that the smallest character would be the weakest and the scary looking 'bad guys' would be nasty but this film flips that on its head and brings all the mifits of the galaxy and makes them into one big crime fighting 'super group'. This film is set in space with various high tech weapons and machinery, these props are all shown to illustate that this is a Sci-Fi film. Throughout the whole trailer, there is non stop action happening in every shot with combat taking place. Comedy is conveyed in this film because there is an upbeat clip if music placed with a combat scene which constrates nicely because it does not go together at all, it somehow works and makes the trailer be seen as more of a comedy film where you can take your children to.

The Vow: This film trailer is categorised into the genre of Romance. The film is set in a city where it is always shining and happy, a typically Romantic film. The trailer shows the whole skyline of New York then goes into the city and then to the characters lives. The music starts off as a light hearted, upbeat song to reflect the mood and feelings of the main characters which are that they love life and each other. The lighting also reflects the mood of the characters which are bright and cheery. This makes the audience feel happy and relaxed. It all changes and the music quickly changes to a more sad, slow song which lets the audience know that something life chaning has happen to one of the characters and lighting dim showing us that there love is lost and forgotten which contrasts the first part of the trailer and reflexs her mind. There is only two characters which imply that their love was sacred and theirs but that soon changes because it shows that there is a divide between them.

Dan Stevens: This film trailer is categorised into the genre of Action/Thriller, this film is a Hybrid genre. The film begins off with a sound of a doorbell and a random man saying he was with this mothers son when he died. Instantly the audience is aware that the film has a big influence of war and death and makes us feel on edge and weary of this man because he is a complete stranger entering your life. The use of music in this trialer is key into making the audience feel on edge because it is a non stop flurry of loud and impacting noises with the music contantly being loud throughout the whole piece, with no lyrics to it which could illustrates the death there is no life in the music in the sense of a singer singing along to the music. The genre is shown as thriller also when the 'good guy' is being portrayed as being sleezy going into strip clubs and nasty when he shoots his gun which completely changes how you view this man. This shows the man is different to everyone else and does not really belong with that family. He has the most focus throughout the trailer which also tells us that he is the most important one out of all the characters.

Mise En Scene

In todays lesson we studied Mise en Scene. This roughly translates in English to 'What's in the scene'. So going from the definition, we mostly spent the whole lesson discussing in groups and individually about the various sections of a scene and how that impacted of how it comes across the audience and how it visually looks. There are 5 basic categories which can all be changed to make the viewer feel or think differently about the scene. These 5 categories are:

.Setting and Props
.Lighting and Colour
.Positioning of the Character
.Facial Expressions and Body Language
Costumes, Hair and Make-Up
All of these features are compressed into making a scene and manipulating the viewer in thinking in different ways. When the features are not collaborated correctly, the results can be catastrophic as they make a whole new scene which might not even make any sense. The smallest details can make the biggest differences throughout any scenes in the film.

Genre Task

Genre - Comedy
In this shot my group tried to show the comedy genre by using props which would normally be seen as being comical looking on a male. I believe that the blonde wig and silver tinsel implys that the person in the shot has had a party which he cannot remember well; his facial expressions also illustates this. We thought the audience would find it humerous that he is looking at himself in the mirror because he doesnt really know what has happend to him let alone the audience so this also shows that there will be a lot of surpirses throughout the film.

Genre - Comedy
In this shot my group tried to show the comedy genre by using a black afro wig which would be seen as humerous for the audience because the wig does not suit him what so ever. We thought it would also be good because the shot shows his head in a toliet which implys that he has had a good night.

Genre - Action Thriller
In this shot we illustrated the genre of thriller by James maintaing a serious face and looking straight at the camera, i believed that this would make the audience feel scared and the briefcase implys there is something in there that he doesnt want anyone to get as he is clutching it tightly.

Genre - Thriller
To create an eery and tense atmosphere my group decided to turn out the lights and we used a torch on the camera to make some light as typically light coming from underneath you is seen as being scary. We only used this light for the person in the foreground to highlight his facial features and to also darken out the fact there was somebody watching him without him actually knowing. We also only keep the light on the person in the foreground because the genre was horror and typically that how most horror movie posters look like.
